Joint Training Packages
SEND&CO work collaboratively with a SEND Advocacy and Mediation Partner (SENDSAM) to offer joint packages of training and support to schools.
Joint packages offer you a one-stop-shop of support
Packages we currently offer include support with EHCNA referrals (both parental requests and school referrals), EBSA support, and meeting the needs of children and young people at risk of exclusion.
EHCNA Referrals
Schools and parents can purchase this package.
Parental requests involve 3 hours of support from SENDSAM to meet with parents and to complete the referral paperwork and 3-hours from the SEND&CO Specialist Teacher to gather the child’s views and to provide up-to-date assessments and a report.
School requests involve 2 hours from SENDSAM to complete the Family Conversation and 3 hours from the SEND&CO Specialist Teacher to provide up-to-date assessments and a report, including gathering the Pupil’s Views.
EBSA
The EBSA package involves a 1-hour initial meeting between SENDSAM and parents , 2 hours of SEND&CO time to gather pupil views and to explore the drivers of the school avoidance, then a 1-hour meeting with school, parents, SENDSAM & SEND&CO (and the CYP if they would like to be present) to agree outcomes and next steps.
The intention is to triangulate support and to agree a stepped approach towards reintegrating the CYP back into school.
Preventing Exclusions
This package is designed to support children who are at risk of exclusion. The package includes an initial 1-hour meeting between SENDSAM and school and/or parents, followed by a choice of a 1-hour or a 3-hour session with SEND&CO to gather the CYP’s views and (if buying 3-hours) to also seek to identify any underlying SEND through assessments, with a report provided. A 1-hour follow-up meeting between school, parents SEND&CO and SENDSAM to agree strategies and next steps.
