Ways you can use SEND&CO
You can request these services as part of your subscription or you can buy these in as an additional purchase or a one-off purchase.

Consultancy
SEND&CO will work with your staff to advise on how to best meet the needs of your pupils with SEND. We can offer advice and support to ECTs to help them feel more equipped and confident to meet the needs of every learner in their class. We will work strategically with your SENDCO and/or Head to improve and tailor your SEND provision to meet the needs of all your SEND learners.

SEND Advocacy & Mediation
Are you looking for support and guidance with families to achieve successful outcomes in challenging meetings regarding SEND? SEND&CO work closely with SENDSAM, a SEND Advocacy and Mediation service.

Dyslexia Screening
At SEND&CO we offer schools the facility to screen (not diagnose) for dyslexia in groups/classes of children. We can screen up to 7 children in one morning. This will give you an at-risk quotient for each child screened and appropriate next steps to meet their needs. If you want to screen larger numbers (whole classes, for example) this can be done. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Dyscalculia Screening
We provide dyscalculia screening through interactive assessment software designed to assist schools in identifying children who experience challenges with mathematics and numerical concepts.

Training
As we are an emerging business we will create bespoke training to meet your needs This will ensure that the training received is as current as possible. We will be offering training in many areas, based on the needs identified in schools. Please contact us to discuss your training requirements.

EBSA Support
Nearly all schools are currently addressing the challenges posed by emotionally-based school avoidance among children and young people. Determining the most effective methods of support can be challenging. SEND&CO provides guidance to help schools offer appropriate support in a suitable manner.

Assessments
SEND&CO can offer you a broad range of cognitive assessments, speech and language assessments, dyslexia screens, sensory processing screens, school readiness and pupil attitude assessments. If you wanted something else, this list is not exhaustive, so we may be able to offer it to you.

Ofsted prep for SENDCO
To help you prepare for an Ofsted inspection, SEND&CO can help your SENDCo feel primed and ready to showcase your school’s inclusive SEND provision. We will use a focused roadmap of activities to improve key documentation and to evidence excellent classroom practice and effective SEND systems.

Whole-class SEND Provision Support
Do you have lots of SEND in some classes? Rather than requesting a series of individual observations / assessments / reports, a better option for you may be guidance on whole-class SEND provision. This is a collaborative process where SEND&CO works with the Class Teacher to agree action plans to simplify, align and improve SEND provision so that all learners can access learning.

EHNCA referral support
If you have too many EHC Needs Assessment referrals to cope with, would you like someone to take the pressure off and do it with you? SEND&CO will work collaboratively with SENDSAM to gather the Child’s Views, to complete the Family Conversation with parents and to report on up-to-date attainment levels for the child.

Preventing PEx
Do you have a child/ren at risk of permanent exclusion but are not sure how to prevent it? Let SEND&CO support you through this difficult time. SEND&CO works in partnership with SENDSAM to explore the pupil’s views and any potential underlying cognitive or communication needs, to explore the difficulties faced by parents and school, and to mediate a meeting to agree next steps.

Pupil Voice
It can be difficult to gather a CYP’s views. Bringing in an outside person who is impartial is often all that is needed for that child to be able to open up about the issues and challenges they are facing on a daily basis. SEND&CO can gather their views and report on suggested strategies to problem-solve the issues raised.

Supporting Neurodiversity
SEND&CO will work with schools to offer empathetic and effective support to manage the needs of your children and young people with autism, ADHD, Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and other neurodiverse conditions.
Alternative Provisions and Specialist Resourced Provisions
Even if you already buy in support from elsewhere you may still be struggling to baseline all your CYP in a timely manner due to capacity. SEND&CO can assess your students and provide you with next steps and targets.
